Glacier Nordic Club

Races start tomorrow morning at Glacier Outdoor Center.  Come on out to support or local GNST J6-J3 racers and see the talented youth from all over the western states!

Due to weather, races for Saturday have been delayed until 10:30am.  Races Sunday remain at 9am.  Check out the updated schedule on the Western States section of our website.

For the second year  the club is hosting the Western States Youth Festival, races for 7 to 14 year old skiers from our region.  We will have about 120  racers from Washington, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and of course Montana.  The race will be Saturday and Sunday, February 26 & 27 at the Glacier Outdoor Center in West Glacier.  Friday we will need volunteers to help set up the course and stadium from 9 to 12am; Saturday will have three races including an interval start skate race, a downhill race (on nordic skis) and an obstacle course race.  We need volunteers starting at 8 or 8:30 until about 2pm.  On Sunday we will need volunteers from 8:30 until noon or 1pm.  Volunteers will be helping with timing or the race course.  Ideally timers can work both days.  We also have a need for volunteers in Whitefish on Saturday from 3pm on to help prep food and set up for a banquet (at the Middle School).  Please email me and let me know if you can help – and which day(s) and if you have any job preferences.
