December 23, 2013, Grooming Report from Steve Muller

Happy Winter!

I started packing and rolling a ski trail at the college this weekend. It’s a bit thin, but with a bit more snow it will be nice skiing for those in Kalispell who want to get in a quick ski. There’s probably about 3 K’s. Hope to add more as we get snow.

The No Dogs, Runners, and Snowshoers Rule will be strictly enforced.

Trail distances:

Total trail distance: 6.58k
Some of these trails are out-and-back and connectors, so your actual distance skied will be greater.

Osborne Loop: 1.17k
Stillwater Loop: .81k
Garden Valley Trail/Loop: 1.3k (formerly known as Walmart Valley Trail)
Hutton Ranch Loop/Big Hill: 1.55k
North Loop/Homer Hill: 1.75k

Directions to the trailhead:
To get to the trailhead, turn east at the traffic light on Grandview Drive.  Continue past the first parking lot and turn left into the Arts and Technology parking lot. The trailhead is located to the left of the Early Childhood Center.

With cooperation from Flathead Valley Community College, and Mother Nature, we will again be grooming a cross country ski trail on the property behind FVCC. There are approximately  8 kilometers of gentle trails, perfect for all levels of ability. Trails are groomed for both classic and skate techniques.

Donate!
We receive no funding for grooming operations, and rely on your contributions to pay for fuel and maintenance. A $2 minimum donation is requested. A donation box is located at the trailhead.
