From Jim Watson. We are all volunteers. Herron Park sees more snowshoers and booters with dogs than skiers but it is still nice to see people out enjoying winter. Oh, Herron Park also has a great sledding hill.
Please contact Flathead County Parks and tell them how much you appreciate winter grooming at Herron Park: Michele Haarr, mhaarr@flathead.mt.gov 758-5800
Grooming Report
I have been setting base tracks at Herron Park and on Plum Creek land. It is building and looking pretty good. When it gets thicker the county can start with their big groomer. Currently coverage is good and getting better.
I hit the Lower Family Trail, the Incline Trail to Horse Trail to Scary Stump, up the Overlook road and down the Overlook Connector. I made a ‘Grand Loop’ by going up the Plum Creek road beyond John Chase’s and taking the really steep horse connector trail down to the lower logging road and then back to Plum Creek Gate.
